Cefuroxime axetil is indicated for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible strains:
– Lower respiratory tract infections
– Otitis media and sinusitis
– Pharyngitis, tonsillitis
– Uncomplicated urinary tract infections
– Uncomplicated Skin and Skin-Structure Infections
– Early Lyme disease (erythema migrans) caused by Borrelia burgdorferi
Store in dry places, not exceeding 30ºC.
– Pharyngitis, tonsillitis: 20mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses a day, maximum daily dose is 500 mg.
– Acute otitis media: 30 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses a day, maximum daily dose is 1000 mg.
– Usual treatment duration: 7 days.
