When oral therapy is not possible or appropriate, SOLI-MEDON is indicated for intravenous or intramuscular to treat:
+ Acute adrenocortical insufficiency, primary nephritic syndrome.
+ Rheumatoid arthritis, Acute and sub acute bursitis.
+ Systemic lupus erythematosus, acute rheumatic carditis, systemic dermatomyositis (polymyositis).
+ Ulcerative colitis (systemic therapy), regional enteritis (systemic therapy).
+ Acquired (autoimmune) hemolytic anemia, erythroblastopenia (RBC anemia)
+ Leukemias and lymphomas, acute leukemia, breast cancer, prostate cancer
+ Severe allergic including anaphylaxis
+ Bronchial asthma, sarcoid.
Store in tight vial at the temperature below 30ºC, protect from light.
SOLI-MEDON 40 is administrated by IV or IM. The dosage is depend on each patient.
The initial dose: 6 – 40mg Methylprednisolone daily. The maintenance dose is lower than the initial dose.
+ Treatment of severe bronchial asthma: IV 60 – 120mg/ time every 6 hours. After the acute asthma is controlled, PO is administrated with the dose 32 – 48mg daily.
+ Treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis: The initial dose: 4 – 6 mg/ day. When acute phase occurs, using the higher dose: 16 – 32 mg/day, and then reduce the dose.
+ Treatment of Chronic arthritis in children: 10 – 30 mg/kg/time (in 3 times)
+ Treatment of primary nephritic syndrome: The initial dose: 0,8 – 1,6 mg/kg/day in 06 weeks, and then reduce dose gradually in 06 – 08 weeks .
+ Treatment of severe allergy: IV 125mg every 06 hours.
+ Treatment of hemolytic anemia due to immune: 64mg/day (by PO) or 1000mg/day in 3 days (by IV). Treatment is conducted in at least 6 – 8 weeks.
+ Before transfusing blood for the patients who are hemolytic anemia, IV 1000mg to prevent the complication increased heamolysis.
+ Treatment of Sarcoid: 0,8mg/kg/day.
Note: The reconstituted solutions of Methyl prednisolone sodium succinate should be stored at the temperature 15 – 30ºC. This solution should not be used unless they are clear, and unused solutions should be discarded after 48 hours.
