It is indicated for the following infections: septicemia, postoperative infection, infection of burn, subcutaneous abscess, swelling, furncle, ostermyelitis, suppurative arthritis, tonsillitis, (periodontitis of tonsil, peritonsillar abscess), bronchitis, bronchiectasis, coinfection, pneumonia, pyosis of the lung, pyothorax, cholangitis, cholecystitis, peritonitis, pyelongephritis, cystitis, urethritis, prostatitis, meningitis, endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, parametritis, adnexitis, bartholinitis, otitis media and sinusitis.
Store at or below 30°C, protect from light.
Administration:
Administer by IV injection or infusion.
IV Injection:
– IV injection, reconstitute the vial containing 1g with sterile water for injection, 0,9% sodium chloride, 5% glucose.
IV Infusion:
– Dilution: IV solutions are prepared by adding 250mg – 2g to 0.9% sodium chloride, 5% dextrose, or other compatible IV solution. In adults, administer appropriate dose by IV infusion over 30-60 minutes.
Dosage:
– Adults: 0,5 – 2g given intravenously in 2 or 4 divided doses daily.
– Pediatric Patients: 40 – 80mg/kg given intravenously in 3 or 4 divided doses daily.
– Renal Impairment and Geriatric Patients:
Patients with Clcr<16,6 mL/minute should receive 75% of the usual dose every 6 or 8 hours.
