– Bilavir is indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B in adult with
+ Compensated liver disease with evidence of active viral replication, persistently elevated serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels and histological evidence of active liver inflammation and/ or fibrosis.
+ Decompensated disease
– Treat HIV infection in combination with other medicines.
Not exceeding 30°C, dry place away from light.
Lamivudin should be used in combination with other medications (Zidovudin or Stavudin)
– ADULTS: 300 mg once daily.
– CHILDREN: 3 months to 12 year old: 4 mg/kg twice daily, maximum dose of 300 mg daily.
– ADULTS: 100 mg x 1 time per day
– CHILDREN (over 2 year old): 3 mg/kg two times per day (maximum 100 mg/day). Safety and efficacy of treatment older than 1 yr not established.
Dosage adjustments in renal impairment:
