– Omeprazole, an acid – or proton – pump inhibitor, is a gastric antisecretory agent.
– Oraptic 20 is used to treat Duodenal Ulcer, Gastric Ulcer, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Pathological Hypersecretory Conditions (e.g. Zollinger – Ellison syndrome…).
Store below 25ºC, at cool and dry place, protect from light.
– Treatment of Duodenal Ulcer: the usual dosage of Omeprazole is 20mg (or 40mg in case of poorly responsitive to therapy) once daily for 2 – 4 weeks.
– Treatment of Gastric Ulcer: 40mg once daily for 4 – 8 weeks.
– Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): 20mg once daily for 4 – 8 weeks. Maintenance dose is 20mg once daily.
For the treatment of GERD and maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis, the recommended daily dose for pediatric patients 1 to 16 years of age is as follows:

On a per kg basis, the doses of omeprazole required to heal erosive esophagitis in pediatric patients are greater than those for adults.
– Treatment of Pathological Hypersecretory Conditions: The dosage of omeprazole delayed-release capsules in patients with pathological hypersecretory conditions varies with the individual patient. The usual initial adult dosage is 60mg once daily. Daily dosages exceeding 80mg should be administered in divided doses. Some patients with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome have been treated continuously with omeprazole for more than 5 years.
– Dosage in Renal Impairment: No need to adjust the dosages
– Dosage in Hepatic Impairment: Hepatic dysfunction receiving exceeding 20mg daily should be monitored.
