BIDIPHAR AND GENE BIO MEDICAL COLLABORATE TO PRODUCE DIAGNOSTIC TEST KITS

Gene Bio Medical (GBM), a Canadian company, and Bidiphar have partnered to produce high-quality diagnostic test kits using Canadian technology in Binh Dinh Province. The estimated investment for the project ranges from 10 to 20 million USD.

On February 25, at the headquarters of the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, Gene Bio Medical (GBM, Canada) and Bidiphar, the Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a joint venture for large-scale production of diagnostic test kits in Binh Dinh Province.

The primary objective of the joint venture is to build a modern production facility in Binh Dinh to manufacture high-quality diagnostic test kits using Canadian technology, serving the Vietnamese market and exporting to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North America.

Additionally, the joint venture aims to prepare for future pandemics and address evolving global health challenges, with a five-year plan to list on the NASDAQ stock exchange in the United States and the Vietnam Stock Exchange.

According to Ms. Jessica Hu, CEO and Founder of GBM, the company is a leading biotechnology firm based in British Columbia, Canada, specializing in molecular diagnostics and providing innovative healthcare solutions. GBM develops advanced diagnostic tools to meet the needs of patients and healthcare providers worldwide.

The CEO of GBM noted that, recognizing the growing global demand for diagnostic test kits, particularly in the market for respiratory infectious disease diagnostics, GBM conducted thorough research in Vietnam and decided to invest in establishing a modern production facility in Binh Dinh to produce high-quality diagnostic test kits using Canadian technology. The total projected investment is between 10 and 20 million USD.

During a meeting with representatives from the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, the British Columbia Office in Vietnam, and GBM, Mr. Lâm Hải Giang, Vice Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, warmly welcomed GBM’s decision to invest in Binh Dinh in the field of biotechnology.

According to Mr. Giang, biotechnology is a sector that the province is prioritizing for development and investment attraction. The Vice Chairman expressed his hope that the delegation would support the promotion of investment opportunities and incentives for projects in Binh Dinh to Canadian businesses. He also requested assistance in connecting and inviting Canadian companies interested in investment to participate in the Binh Dinh Investment Promotion Conference 2025, scheduled for late March.
